Description
Platform Housing Group is looking for an experienced Programme Surveyor to join its External Contracts and Delivery team.
You will manage property investment works across a set region. Your work will help keep homes safe, well maintained and in good condition. You will also support customer satisfaction and help deliver Platform’s Asset Management Strategy.
The Programme Surveyor will oversee projects, contractors and related property issues. You will work with consultants, customers and other professionals to deliver planned maintenance programmes.
This is a home-based role. However, regular travel is required across the East and West Midlands. Areas include Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Warwick and nearby locations.
The role is fixed term until May 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment works: Manage planned investment works across an assigned region.
- Programme delivery: Help deliver property maintenance programmes from start to finish.
- Property standards: Make sure homes are maintained to a high standard.
- Contractors: Manage external contractors and monitor their performance.
- Project teams: Lead project teams and work with building consultants.
- Building safety: Support work linked to CDM, asbestos, fire safety and site safety.
- Fire actions: Help manage actions raised through fire risk assessments.
- Customer contact: Consult residents about planned maintenance and construction work.
- Contracts: Support procurement and the management of building contracts.
- Risk management: Identify issues and help make sure action is taken.
- Asset strategy: Support the delivery of Platform’s Asset Management Strategy.
About You
You should have:
- Sector experience: Significant experience in housing or construction.
- Relevant qualification: An HNC, HND or similar technical qualification in construction or building services.
- Building knowledge: A sound understanding of building construction and maintenance.
- Building safety knowledge: Knowledge of CDM, asbestos management, site safety and fire safety duties.
- Programme experience: Experience delivering planned maintenance or property programmes.
- Contract knowledge: Good knowledge of contracts and procurement.
- Contractor management: Experience managing external contractors.
- Team leadership: Strong skills in managing project teams.
- Customer consultation: Experience speaking with residents about planned works.
- Professional working: Confidence working with consultants and other property professionals.
- Driving licence: A full UK driving licence.
- Travel: The ability to travel across the East and West Midlands.
