Homes England is the government’s housing and regeneration agency. We believe affordable, good-quality homes in well-designed places improve lives.
We help make that happen by bringing together land, funding, expertise and influence. We work with partners to unlock investment and deliver more homes and stronger communities.
What Homes England do
We support housing and regeneration from early planning through to delivery. We help partners:
- Build more quality homes: Increasing supply and improving design.
- Speed up delivery: Removing barriers and helping schemes move forward.
- Support remediation: Helping improve and fix existing homes and buildings.
- Drive regeneration: Renewing places and boosting local opportunity.
- Improve building safety: Promoting safer homes and stronger standards.
- Grow a better housing market: Supporting new entrants and encouraging innovation.
How Homes England work
We build long-term partnerships across the public and private sectors. We use our influence to champion sustainable, well-designed homes and places. We also fund and support the sector to become more resilient, diverse and innovative. This includes encouraging modern methods of construction (MMC) and better design.
Homes England role in regeneration
Following the government’s Levelling Up agenda, Homes England plays a central role in regeneration. We work with places to reduce economic disparity, support local leadership and create more equal opportunity, so communities can reach their potential.
