Overview

Salix Homes is a multi-award-winning social housing provider based in Salford, Greater Manchester. We work to provide safe, well-managed homes and support the people who live in them, while helping neighbourhoods feel cleaner, calmer, and better connected.

We began in 2007 as an arms-length management organisation (ALMO), managing homes on behalf of Salford City Council. In 2014, tenants voted for Salix Homes to take ownership of their homes. In March 2015, we became a stand-alone Registered Provider (RP), with a clear focus: deliver the quality of service and homes that local people deserve.

What we do

Social housing management: We manage and maintain homes, respond to repairs, and help residents live safely and comfortably.
Improving homes and neighbourhoods: We invest in homes and local areas, focusing on standards, safety, and pride in place.
Money advice and support: We help residents access advice and support so they can manage household costs and stay secure in their tenancy.
Jobs and opportunities: We support access to training, employment support, and local opportunities that help people build stable futures.

We support residents across Salford and work with local partners to improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. We believe housing is more than a building. It’s the base for health, stability, education, and opportunity.
