Description

Yorkshire Housing is looking for two Compliance Technical Officers. You will help deliver safe and compliant homes across its property portfolio.

This is a key technical role within Building Safety. You will support landlord Compliance programmes across gas, electrical safety, asbestos, lifts and water hygiene. Your work will also cover damp and mould and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.

You will inspect work, check records and monitor contractor performance. You will also help make sure Compliance data is clear, accurate and reliable.

The role uses Yorkshire Housing’s agile working approach. You can work from home for part of the week. However, you will travel to sites across Yorkshire for inspections and audits. You will also attend the Leeds workspace when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance programmes: Support gas, electrical, asbestos, lifts and water hygiene work.
  • Property safety: Help manage damp and mould and HHSRS activity.
  • Inspections: Carry out site inspections, audits and quality checks.
  • Data quality: Check Compliance records and keep information accurate.
  • Contractors: Monitor contractor work, quality and performance.
  • Assurance: Support reports and provide evidence on safety programmes.
  • Planning: Help plan and track work across each area of Compliance.
  • Customer contact: Explain technical issues in a clear and helpful way.
  • Teamwork: Work with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Risk management: Identify issues and help make sure action is taken.

About You

You should have:

  • Relevant qualification: A Level 4 qualification in assets, Building Safety or a related subject, or be willing to work towards one.
  • Compliance knowledge: Good knowledge of landlord safety duties.
  • Technical experience: Knowledge of gas, electrical safety, asbestos, lifts or water hygiene.
  • Property knowledge: An understanding of damp and mould and HHSRS.
  • Inspection skills: Experience carrying out audits, inspections or quality checks.
  • Data skills: Confidence working with detailed Compliance records.
  • IT skills: Experience using Compliance databases and other systems.
  • Organisation: The ability to plan work and manage priorities.
  • Customer service: Confidence handling complaints or technical discussions.
  • Attention to detail: A careful and methodical approach.
  • Relationship skills: The ability to work with teams and contractors.
