Description
Gloucester City Homes is looking for an experienced Surveyor to support its Planned Programme.
You will oversee large projects and contracts that run across several years. Your work will help improve homes and make sure they meet agreed standards and legal duties.
The Surveyor will manage budgets, contractors and project delivery. You will also provide expert advice on property matters and investment decisions.
This is a permanent, full-time role for 37 hours per week. You can work remotely, with two days each week based in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned works: Help deliver major property improvement programmes.
- Contract management: Manage individual contracts from start to finish.
- Project delivery: Keep projects on time, within budget and to the right standard.
- Budget control: Monitor costs and make sound financial decisions.
- Property advice: Give technical advice on buildings and investment needs.
- Standards: Make sure homes meet regulatory and Decent Homes requirements.
- Contractors: Coordinate contractors and monitor their performance.
- Commercial issues: Manage contract issues, disputes and risks.
- Value for money: Help make sure projects provide good value.
- Customer service: Support work that meets resident needs and expectations.
- Stakeholders: Explain technical matters clearly to a wide range of people.
About You
You should have:
- Relevant qualification: A suitable technical or professional qualification.
- Professional membership: Membership of CIOB, intermediate RICS status or membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
- Surveying experience: Substantial experience in asset management, property investment and public procurement.
- Major projects: Experience managing planned improvement projects worth more than £1 million.
- Budget skills: The ability to manage budgets and make clear financial judgements.
- Contract knowledge: Strong contract and project management experience.
- Risk management: The ability to identify and reduce project risks.
- Technical skills: A good understanding of property and asset management.
- Communication: The ability to explain technical information in simple terms.
- Organisation: Confidence managing complex work and tight deadlines.
- Driving: A valid driving licence and access to a car.
