Senior Building Control Surveyor | Full Time | London | £58,899 – £66,693

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is looking for a Senior Building Control Surveyor.

This is a full-time role based at Kensington Town Hall in London. You will be based in the borough for 3 days a week.

You will manage a varied portfolio of projects. These may include homes, commercial sites and landmark cultural buildings.

You will help make sure buildings across the borough are safe, compliant and built to last.

This is a technical Building Control role. You will carry out plan checks, site inspections and enforcement work. You will also give clear advice to architects, contractors, developers and residents.

You will support a respected Building Control service. The team works on complex and high-profile projects across the borough.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of building projects.

About You

• Chartered professional status.
• Registered with a recognised body such as RICS, CABE or CIOB.
• Registered as a Class 2F Building Inspector.
• Or registered as a Class 2C Building Inspector and working towards Class 2F competency.
• Experience managing residential developments.
• Experience managing commercial developments.
• Experience with developments between 11m and 18m in height.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act 1984.
• Strong knowledge of related regulations.
• Able to make technical decisions under pressure.
• Confident dealing with dangerous structures.
• Confident dealing with enforcement action.
• Able to explain complex issues clearly.
• Able to speak calmly with residents and non-technical people.
