Citizen is hiring an Asbestos Manager.
This is a permanent role for 37 hours a week with hybrid working. The base is 4040 Lakeside, Birmingham, with work across Coventry, Birmingham, Hereford and Worcester.
You will lead Citizen’s approach to asbestos compliance, safety, and risk management. This is a key role that helps make sure homes stay safe and the organisation meets its legal duties.
You will work with teams across the business and support a strong, practical approach to compliance. This role suits an experienced Asbestos Manager who can lead well, work closely with others, and improve systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance: Act as Duty Holder for asbestos compliance under Regulation 4 of CAR 2012
- Manage plans and records: Maintain asbestos plans, policies, registers, and compliance systems
- Oversee data: Manage asbestos data systems and IT tools for reporting and risk management
- Plan works: Manage surveys, inspections, repairs, and emergency asbestos work
- Give expert advice: Support teams and stakeholders with safe and compliant asbestos practice
- Manage service delivery: Oversee budgets, procurement, performance, customer engagement, and complaints
About You
- Experienced: At least 5 years in a similar building safety role and organisation
- Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of asbestos management and building or fire safety
- Qualified: BOHS P405 in the management of asbestos in buildings, or an equivalent building safety qualification
- Licensed to travel: Full UK driving licence
- Collaborative: Able to work well with colleagues and build positive working relationships
- Approachable: Comfortable supporting others and helping teams meet safety and compliance goals
