Description

Together Housing is hiring two Building Safety Managers to join its Building Safety Team.

One role will focus on Calderdale. The other will focus on Lancashire.

This is a full-time, hybrid role. You may work from the office, from site and from home. Office locations include Halifax, Blackburn and Wakefield.

The salary is £60,240 per year.

You will help lead key work under the new Building Safety framework. You will work with regulators, staff and contractors to make sure safety work is done, recorded and kept compliant.

You will also help make sure in-scope buildings are registered with the Building Safety Regulator. You will support Building Assurance Certificates and oversee resident engagement.

This is a serious role with real impact. Not the kind of “manager” role where the main hazard is a calendar invite with no agenda. Actual homes. Actual residents. Actual risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage building safety cases: Develop and maintain complete Building Safety Cases and reports for high-risk blocks.
  • Manage building information: Develop and manage Building Information Model content.
  • Improve systems: Set clear IT needs for a full view of each building safety case.
  • Maintain Golden Thread records: Keep key building information clear, complete and easy to access.
  • Register buildings: Ensure all relevant buildings are registered with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Support certificates: Obtain and maintain Building Assurance Certificates.
  • Act for the Accountable Person: Deliver day-to-day functions for buildings in scope of the Fire Safety Order.
  • Manage fire safety plans: Develop, review and deliver fire safety strategies and Fire Management Plans.
  • Review risk assessments: Audit and approve Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Coordinate PCFRAs and rPEEPs: Support personal fire safety planning and related reviews.
  • Manage remedial works: Track and complete works needed to meet legal duties.
  • Handle fire incidents: Investigate, report and manage fire incidents in high-risk blocks.
  • Report occurrences: Set up and run a Mandatory Occurrence Reporting process.
  • Engage residents: Lead and monitor the Resident Engagement Strategy.
  • Work with regulators: Build strong links with the Building Safety Regulator, Fire and Rescue Services and Local Authority Building Control.
  • Support audits: Help with audits, formal reviews and inspections.
  • Escalate risk: Raise key risks when needed.
  • Share best practice: Work with partners, residents and the Building Safety Team to improve standards.
  • Support inclusion: Promote health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion.
