Description
One Manchester is hiring two Building Safety Managers.
These are full-time, permanent roles for 35 hours a week. The roles are based in Manchester with agile working.
You will help manage Building Safety across a portfolio of Higher-Risk Buildings and other in-scope buildings. This includes buildings over 11 metres and Independent Living Schemes.
You will manage risk, support safety processes, and respond to day-to-day operational needs. You will also help make sure buildings meet legal and regulatory requirements.
This role needs strong knowledge of building, fire, and structural safety. It also needs good organisation, flexibility, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage portfolios: Oversee Higher-Risk Buildings and other in-scope buildings
- Support compliance: Help meet statutory and regulatory Building Safety requirements
- Manage risk: Apply risk management approaches across buildings and services
- Support safety activity: Oversee safety processes and respond to operational needs
- Work with others: Support teams and customers with a clear and practical approach
- Keep standards high: Help make sure homes stay safe and compliant
About You
- Qualified: Hold a relevant professional qualification in construction, fire, or health and safety
- Knowledgeable: Good understanding of UK building and fire safety law, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Experienced: Strong practical experience in Building Safety, fire safety, structural compliance, and health and safety
- Risk aware: Able to apply risk management approaches to building structures, inspections, safety strategies, and management plans
- Technically confident: Good Microsoft Office skills and comfortable learning systems such as C365, RiskFlag, or similar
- Sector aware: Social housing experience in a building safety role is preferred
- Mobile: Full UK driving licence required
- Customer focused: Able to work in a flexible and organised way while keeping customers in mind
