Description
Slough Borough Council is looking for a Property Compliance Lead to join its Regeneration, Housing and Environment directorate.
This is a full-time, permanent role. You will work 37 hours per week. The role is based at Observatory House, Slough, with hybrid working. You must work in the office at least 2 days per week.
You will lead property compliance across a varied council portfolio. The role focuses on safe buildings, strong systems, clear standards and good performance.
You will help make sure statutory and company standards are monitored, managed and improved. In normal human language, that means keeping people safe and stopping compliance from becoming a dusty spreadsheet graveyard. A noble cause, somehow.
You will also support health and safety, lead teams and improve processes across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Compliance: Drive strong property compliance across the council’s portfolio.
- Manage standards: Make sure statutory and internal standards are monitored and met.
- Improve systems: Lead the systems that support property safety and compliance.
- Support health and safety: Work at the centre of compliance and health and safety activity.
- Oversee performance: Help keep operational performance at a high level.
- Lead teams: Shape and support high-performing teams.
- Improve processes: Develop clear and robust ways of working.
- Monitor risk: Help identify, manage and reduce property-related risk.
- Support assurance: Make sure compliance evidence is clear and well managed.
- Drive improvement: Support continuous improvement across property compliance.
- Work with others: Build strong links with colleagues, services and partners.
- Support transformation: Help the council move forward with service change and growth.
About You
Slough Borough Council is looking for someone who can:
- Lead property compliance: Bring experience in property compliance, safety or a related area.
- Manage people: Support and lead teams to deliver strong results.
- Use sound judgement: Make clear decisions based on risk, evidence and service need.
- Improve services: Spot gaps and build better systems and processes.
- Work with standards: Understand the need to meet statutory and internal requirements.
- Communicate clearly: Explain compliance issues to different audiences.
- Manage priorities: Keep control of workload, actions and deadlines.
- Work collaboratively: Build positive working relationships across the council.
- Support change: Bring ambition, innovation and a practical approach.
- Focus on residents: Help deliver safer, better services for local people.
A Basic DBS check is required for this role.
