Ridge is looking for a Fire Engineer to join its design team.

This is a permanent full-time role. You can be based in London, Manchester, or Liverpool.

About the Role

As a Fire Engineer, you will be part of the design team from the start of each project.

You will work on a wide mix of schemes. These include Formula 1 facilities, heritage museums, university frameworks, and historic residential buildings. As a result, the role offers variety and good technical experience.

You will help develop fire strategies that are practical, clear, and buildable. So, this role is ideal for someone who wants to work on real projects and not just isolated technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of fire strategies across different projects.
• Carry out fire engineering analysis, calculations, and technical reports.
• Work closely with architects, design teams, and clients.
• Help influence design decisions through clear technical input.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Support project delivery to programme and budget.
• Build your understanding of how fire engineering fits into wider project delivery.

About You

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a related STEM subject.
• Background in fire engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Comfortable using engineering thinking to solve real problems.
• Interested in working on projects from a practical design point of view.
• Clear communicator who can work well with teams and clients.
• Good working knowledge of UK fire safety guidance such as BS 9991, BS 9999, and Approved Document B.
• Interested in working towards professional registration with the IFE or similar body.
