AESG is hiring an Associate Director - Fire & Life Safety in London. This is a full-time hybrid role. It sits within AESG’s Fire Life Safety team.

AESG is a specialist consultancy, engineering, and advisory firm with offices in London, Riyadh, Singapore, Dubai, Cape Town, Cairo, and Sydney. The business works across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

In this role, you will lead complex Fire Safety projects and support the growth of the team. You will help deliver work on time and on budget. You will also build client relationships, support staff development, and protect quality across projects.

This role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing major fire and life safety projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects: Deliver Fire & Life Safety projects on time and within budget
  • Support clients: Build strong client relationships and help win repeat work
  • Provide technical leadership: Review reports, drawings, modelling, simulations, inspections, audits, and project sign-off
  • Support team growth: Help train, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level staff
  • Improve delivery: Support quality, project planning, resourcing, and department efficiency
  • Support business growth: Help expand AESG’s offer and strengthen its position in the market
  • Represent the business: Contribute to conferences, seminars, white papers, and industry events
  • Maintain standards: Support health, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements

About You

  • Qualified: Relevant engineering degree, ideally with an MSc or relevant post-academic professional qualification
  • Experienced: At least 15 years of professional experience in a similar industry
  • Leader: At least 8 years of management experience leading technical teams
  • Professionally recognised: Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent, or working towards it
  • Technically strong: Able to lead delivery across all project stages
  • Commercially aware: Strong understanding of financial performance, budgeting, and business development
  • Client-focused: Able to act as a trusted adviser to key clients
  • Strategic: Able to support long-term growth, innovation, and operational improvement
  • Communicator: Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
