Description

Peabody is hiring three Fire Remediation Managers to join its Fire Remediation Team.

These are permanent, full-time roles. The salary is £69,064. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00.

The role is hybrid, with two office days per week. The listed location is Westminster Bridge Road. The team’s monthly office day is the second Tuesday of each month at the Waterloo office. Much of your time will also be spent on site.

You will lead major cladding and fire safety remediation schemes. You will manage projects from investigation and design through to tender, site delivery, handover and final account.

This is a key Fire Remediation role. Your work will help Peabody meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022. It will also help make homes safer and more reliable for residents.

So no, this is not one of those project roles where “delivery” means forwarding an email and hoping gravity does the rest. This is proper, visible work with real safety impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead major projects: Manage cladding and fire safety remediation schemes.
  • Manage the full process: Oversee investigation, design, planning, building control, procurement, site delivery and completion.
  • Support compliance: Help ensure schemes meet the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Monitor quality: Check workmanship and make sure standards are met.
  • Track progress: Monitor project programmes and keep delivery moving.
  • Manage contractors: Review contractor performance and deal with issues.
  • Control budgets: Manage budgets, costs and commercial matters.
  • Manage risk: Identify and manage project risks from start to finish.
  • Support residents: Keep resident safety and service at the centre of delivery.
  • Build relationships: Work with colleagues, technical experts, contractors, residents and external authorities.
  • Keep records: Maintain the Golden Thread of information.
  • Report clearly: Ensure project records, reports and documents are accurate.
  • Improve services: Support high performance, learning and continuous improvement.

About You

You will need strong experience in major works, refurbishment or Fire Remediation projects.

You should be calm under pressure and able to lead complex work through to completion. You will need sound technical judgement and strong project management skills.

  • Project control: Strong skills in budgets, timescales, quality and risk.
  • Team leadership: Experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Stakeholder skills: Confidence working with residents, colleagues, contractors and external bodies.
  • Communication: Clear and confident written and verbal communication.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Solid understanding of legal, commercial and regulatory duties.
  • Fire safety qualification: A relevant qualification, such as IFE, IFSM or CIOB Level 6.
  • Technical qualification: HNC or above in a related field.

Professional accreditation is desirable but not essential. This may include:

  • RICS
  • CIOB
  • RIBA

You must have the right to work in the UK. Peabody cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Application Tips

Use clear examples from major works, refurbishment or Fire Remediation projects. Show how you managed design, tendering, contractors, risk, budgets, quality and handover. Include your fire safety and technical qualifications clearly. Also explain how you have worked with residents and kept records, because the Golden Thread is only useful if someone can actually find the thing later.
