Description

Riverside is looking for a Data Assurance Officer to support its fire safety and building compliance work.

This is a key role for someone who enjoys working with data, systems, records and detail. You will help make sure Riverside’s fire safety and compliance data is accurate, up to date and easy to use.

You will support the team by checking records, reviewing data quality, helping with audits and making sure key information is held correctly across internal and third-party systems. Because apparently buildings do not manage their own compliance records, despite decades of human optimism.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Data Assurance Officer, you will help maintain strong data controls across Riverside’s building safety and compliance systems.

You will:

  • Support data quality: Help maintain accurate fire safety and compliance records.
  • Check key systems: Review data held in compliance, housing, asset and finance systems.
  • Improve records: Find gaps, errors and weak points in data and help fix them.
  • Support audits: Help test the quality and integrity of compliance data.
  • Manage surveys: Coordinate “Duty of Care” surveys and update records when information is received.
  • Maintain compliance data: Keep records accurate for repairs, maintenance, investment and safety planning.
  • Support colleagues: Provide advice, guidance and training on systems and data processes.
  • Review legal records: Support checks on leases, tenancy agreements and other documents to confirm compliance duties.
  • Update new property data: Help record data for new builds, acquisitions and disposals.
  • Support reporting: Check exception reports and work with business information teams to improve insight.

About You

You do not need to tick every box, but you should be confident working with data, systems and detail.

You will bring:

  • Data skills: Experience using data to understand issues and provide useful insight.
  • System knowledge: An understanding of IT systems, configuration and business processes.
  • Housing or compliance knowledge: Experience with housing management, asset management or compliance systems.
  • Excel skills: Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, pivot tables and charts.
  • Clear communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail: The ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Problem solving: Confidence spotting issues and helping improve processes.
  • Team working: A flexible and supportive approach to working with colleagues.
  • Customer focus: The ability to work well with people across the business.

Desirable Experience

It would also be useful if you have:

  • Knowledge of social housing, property compliance, building safety or quality assurance.
  • Experience reviewing leases, tenancy agreements or legal documents.
  • Experience creating improvement plans and reporting on outcomes.
  • An understanding of risk, controls and assurance checks.
  • Experience helping move manual processes into better IT systems.
