Construction Fire Safety Manager | Full time | Motherwell | £50,669 – £56,329

North Lanarkshire Council is hiring a Construction Fire Safety Manager.

This is a permanent full-time role based at the Civic Centre in Motherwell. The role is 35 hours a week and offers hybrid working.

You will join the Housing Investment Team and support major work across housing stock and surrounding areas. This is a new role in a multi-disciplinary design and project management team.

You will lead the development and delivery of Fire Safety investment projects. You will also support policy development, guide internal teams and contractors, and act as the main fire safety adviser for the Investment team.

This role would suit someone with strong construction and fire safety experience who can lead projects and provide clear technical advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects: Manage fire safety investment projects of different sizes and complexity
• Support delivery: Make sure projects follow the RIBA Plan of Work
• Manage people: Oversee technical staff involved in project delivery
• Provide advice: Act as the main fire safety adviser for the Investment team
• Support policy: Help develop fire safety policies and standards
• Work with others: Guide internal teams, contractors, and partners on fire safety matters
• Solve problems: Help deal with design and technical issues across projects

About You

• Qualified: Degree, SVQ4, or HND in a relevant subject
• Experienced: Strong knowledge and practical experience in construction and fire safety
• Project aware: Good understanding of project management
• Technically strong: Knowledge of construction, Building Standards, and related legislation
• Industry aware: Good understanding of the construction industry
• Digitally confident: Strong IT skills
• Problem solver: Able to find practical solutions to design-related issues
