AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Senior Fire Engineer.

This is a full-time role with location options across the UK.Including Bristol, Epsom, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow. Preferred locations include London and Derby.

You will join the Building Design Practice and work across a national team of design professionals. The work covers a wide range of sectors, including cities and development, commercial, energy, residential, and transportation.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced Fire Engineer who wants to lead their own work, support team growth, and help deliver safe and practical fire engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across sectors: Support projects in residential, rail, energy, and other sectors
• Deliver projects: Support fire engineering work from early design through to final delivery
• Manage your work: Take responsibility for your own projects and support delivery within time and cost budgets
• Develop strategies: Help prepare and develop fire strategies
• Carry out site visits: Visit sites and review fire-related matters in practice
• Assess risk: Identify fire risks and work with others to reduce them
• Review installations: Comment on the quality of fire safety-related installations
• Support new work: Help with tenders and business development activity
• Prepare reports: Write reports, attend design meetings, and liaise with clients
• Keep current: Stay up to date with fire safety regulations and legislation

About You

• Experienced: Background in fire engineering and able to manage project work
• Sector aware: Comfortable working across different building and infrastructure sectors
• Technically strong: Good understanding of fire safety standards, design work, and risk assessment
• Organised: Able to manage work to time and budget
• Collaborative: Works well with other team members and wider design teams
• Strong communicator: Comfortable writing reports, attending meetings, and speaking with clients
