Description
Peabody is looking for three Building Safety Managers to support its high-rise residential portfolio across London. This role sits within Asset Compliance and Building Safety, part of the Investment directorate. You will help Peabody meet its duties under the Building Safety Act 2022, manage safety risks, and support safer homes for residents. You will also work with residents, contractors, internal teams and regulators to build trust and keep safety standards clear.
This is a permanent full-time role. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The role is hybrid, with two office days per week at Westminster Bridge Road.
Key Responsibilities
- Building Safety compliance: Lead Building Safety Act 2022 activity for an allocated geographical patch.
- Risk management: Identify, manage and reduce building and fire safety risks.
- Inspections: Carry out safety inspections across high-rise residential buildings.
- Resident engagement: Share clear updates with residents and respond to safety-related concerns.
- Stakeholder working: Work with contractors, internal teams and external regulators.
- Safety culture: Promote a clear and open approach to Building Safety.
- Compliance records: Support accurate records and evidence for safety duties.
- Regulatory standards: Help ensure homes remain safe, secure and compliant.
About You
You should have:
- Building Safety knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and how it applies in practice.
- Relevant qualification or experience: A minimum Level 3 qualification, or strong experience in fire safety, structural engineering or building surveying.
- High-rise experience: Proven experience managing building or fire safety in residential high-rise buildings.
- Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction, fire risk assessments and relevant guidance.
- Regulatory awareness: Understanding of guidance such as Approved Document B and BS9991.
- Communication skills: The ability to speak clearly with residents, contractors and regulators.
- Resident focus: A calm and professional approach to resident concerns and safety issues.
- Team working: The ability to work well across teams and with external partners.
