Description

Jacobs is looking for a Graduate Fire Engineer to join its Graduate Development Programme.

This role can be based in London, Birmingham or Manchester. It offers hybrid working. The start date is September 2026.

You will join the Jacobs Cities and Places team. This team creates places that work well for people, from regions and cities to neighbourhoods, communities and buildings.

The specialist fire team is looking for someone who wants to help shape fire safety design and management. You will support major fire engineering projects in the UK and overseas.

This is a graduate role, so you will learn through live work, mentoring, training and support. Actual structured development. A rare sight in the wild, like a meeting that ends early.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support fire projects: Help deliver fire engineering work on national and international projects.
  • Work across sectors: Support projects across different building types and sectors.
  • Help improve building safety: Contribute to better fire safety design and management.
  • Learn on the job: Build your skills through live project work.
  • Work with specialists: Join engineers, architects, surveyors, designers, project managers and transport planners.
  • Support design work: Help deliver joined-up design solutions for clients.
  • Develop technical skills: Build knowledge in fire engineering, consulting and project delivery.
  • Use the graduate programme: Take part in blended learning, mentoring, reviews and networking.
  • Shape your career: Customise parts of your learning around your interests and goals.
  • Work with clients and teams: Support project work with colleagues and industry leaders.

About You

Jacobs is looking for a motivated future Fire Engineer who is ready to learn and grow.

You should have:

  • Relevant study: Be working towards a degree or Master’s level qualification in Fire Engineering or Architecture.
