CHPK is looking for a Fire Risk Assessment Consultant to join its consulting team in London.

CHPK is a consultancy that works in fire safety engineering across the built environment. It supports clients in sectors such as residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare and high-rise development.

CHPK is part of Celnor Group. Celnor works across testing, inspection, certification and compliance services.

This Fire Risk role will focus on fire risk assessments, fire safety audits and wider fire safety consultancy. You will carry out site-based assessments, write clear reports and support senior consultants.

You will work under the guidance of Senior, Principal and Associate-level consultants. This makes the role a good fit for someone who wants to build technical skill, confidence and fire safety knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Carry out fire safety audits.
  • Complete fire safety inspections.
  • Work across a range of building types.
  • Follow the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.
  • Follow the Fire Safety Act 2021.
  • Follow the Fire Safety England Regulations 2022.
  • Collect clear site information.
  • Assess fire hazards and risks.
  • Review existing fire safety measures.
  • Prepare clear Fire Risk reports.
  • Prepare action plans using approved templates.
  • Follow internal quality procedures.
  • Support wider fire safety consultancy work.
  • Work with senior consultants on technical matters.
  • Support high-quality project delivery.
  • Communicate findings clearly to clients and colleagues.

About You

  • Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Knowledge of fire safety audits and inspections.
  • Good understanding of fire safety law.
  • Knowledge of the Fire Safety Order 2005.
  • Knowledge of the Fire Safety Act 2021.
  • Knowledge of the Fire Safety England Regulations 2022.
  • Able to inspect a range of premises.
  • Able to identify hazards and risks.
  • Able to write clear and accurate reports.
  • Able to follow set methods and templates.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work with clients and project teams.
  • Keen to develop technical fire safety knowledge.
  • Comfortable working under senior technical guidance.
  • A fire safety, building surveying or related qualification would be useful.
