Description

Southern Housing is looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join its dedicated Fire Safety team.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Horsham. The salary is £50,000 - £56,260, depending on experience, plus £1,800 ECU.

You will lead fire risk assessment activity across Southern Housing’s homes. You will make sure fire risk actions are completed on time and to the right standard.

You will inspect homes and buildings across East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The role includes occasional travel, with overnight stays on the Isle of Wight every 2 to 3 months. You will also attend monthly team meetings at the Farringdon office.

You will usually work on site at least 4 days per week. The remaining day can be worked from home or from an office.

So yes, it is a practical role. Less “strategy fog”, more “go and check the building is actually safe”. A rare and beautiful thing.

  • Support residents: Provide a high standard of service to residents and leaseholders.
  • Work with partners: Liaise with staff, managing agents and property owners.
  • Maintain standards: Help make sure Southern Housing homes are safe and well maintained.
