CHPK Group is looking for a Managing Director to lead its Building Consultancy business in London.
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for strategy, performance, and direction. You will lead a multi-disciplinary consultancy team and help deliver strong results across building surveying, cost consultancy, and related professional services.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Managing Director or senior leader who can combine commercial focus, technical oversight, and team leadership in a growing business.
About the Role
As Managing Director, you will lead the Building Consultancy division and help shape its future. You will make sure the business delivers high-quality work, supports clients well, and grows in a sustainable way.
You will also work closely with CHPK Group and the wider Celnor Group. This means you will help align the business with group strategy while keeping a clear focus on service quality, governance, and market growth.
The role needs someone who can lead confidently, build strong relationships, and guide the business through change and opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction of the Building Consultancy business.
- Help define target sectors, clients, and service lines.
- Lead sustainable growth through strong market position and service quality.
- Oversee the quality, consistency, and governance of service delivery.
- Support complex, high-risk, or high-profile projects where needed.
- Maintain strong procedures, technical standards, and quality assurance.
- Lead commercial performance, profitability, and financial planning.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, resource use, and cost control.
- Lead, inspire, and develop senior leaders and wider teams.
- Support succession planning, retention, and professional development.
- Act as a senior ambassador for CHPK Group with clients and stakeholders.
- Support business development, bids, and strategic opportunities.
- Maintain strong governance across risk, quality, and compliance.
- Work with group leadership to manage business risk and uphold standards.
About You
- Extensive leadership experience in building surveying, cost consultancy, or professional services.
- Strong track record of leading and growing a consultancy or service line.
- Good understanding of the commercial property sector and consultancy delivery models.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a complex environment.
- Strong commercial skills, including P&L ownership and financial management.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to turn plans into action.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High credibility with clients, partners, and senior decision-makers.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to lead in a changing market.
Qualifications
- Chartered professional, such as MRICS, FRICS, or equivalent.
