Description
CHPK Fire Engineering is hiring a Fire Engineer in London.
This is a full-time hybrid role covering London and the Home Counties. CHPK is a consultancy that works across the built environment, including residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare, and high-rise projects.
You will support a growing portfolio of work across London and the South East. You will help deliver fire engineering strategies, support compliance, and work closely with design teams, contractors, and approval bodies.
This role is a good fit for a Fire Engineer with consultancy experience, strong technical knowledge, and a practical approach to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies: Prepare fire strategies for new build and refurbishment projects
- Prepare documents: Write fire statements and other fire safety reports
- Review designs: Carry out drawing and plan reviews
- Give technical advice: Support clients and project teams through design and construction
- Work with others: Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities
- Support standards: Help improve CHPK’s fire engineering processes and ways of working
About You
- Qualified: Degree in Fire Engineering or a related subject
- Experienced: Around 2 to 3 years of fire engineering consultancy experience
- Knowledgeable: Good understanding of UK fire safety law and design guidance such as BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B
- Strong communicator: Confident working with clients and wider project teams
- Flexible: Able to manage work independently and as part of a team
- Professionally engaged: Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or the Institute of Fire Safety Managers is preferred
