Description
L&Q is hiring an Assistant Building Safety Manager to join its Building Safety Team. This is a permanent full-time role for 35 hours a week. The reporting office is in Stratford, London. The role is hybrid, with 20% to 40% of working time based in the office or working location.
You will support Building Safety Managers with compliance work across in-scope buildings. This includes site inspections, gathering building information, and helping prepare Building Safety Case Reports.
You will work with Lead Building Safety Managers, the Head of Service, the Director of Building Compliance & Engagement, and the Strategic Building Safety Team.
This role is a good fit for someone who wants to grow in Building Safety and help keep residents safe in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support compliance: Help Building Safety Managers meet duties under the Building Safety Act and related legislation
- Carry out inspections: Support site inspections and check compliance with current building safety rules
- Gather information: Help collect building information and prepare Building Safety Case Reports
- Manage records: Make sure fire and building safety activity is tracked through the Golden Thread
- Work with others: Communicate with residents, leaseholders, internal teams, and external stakeholders
- Support contracts: Help manage consultants and service providers who provide building safety information
- Review safety activity: Check maintenance, testing, and outcomes, including fire and structural risks
- Promote awareness: Help raise the profile of the Building Safety Team and its work across the organisation
About You
- Interested in building safety: Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant Building Safety qualification
- Good communicator: Able to work clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
- Collaborative: Works well with others and supports joined-up ways of working
- Supportive team member: Able to help promote a strong team culture during change
- Organised: Comfortable managing information and keeping records up to date
- Technically confident: Good computer skills and able to use different management systems
- Safety focused: Able to support work that keeps buildings safe to occupy and helps residents feel safe

- Salary: £37,451 to £45,500 depending on experience
