Description

Sanctuary Group is looking for a Built Environment Compliance Lead to join its Building Safety Team.

This is a homeworking role with regular travel. You will work 35 hours per week. The role offers a salary of £66,721 to £70,233 per year, plus a company car or car allowance.

You will help develop and deliver Sanctuary’s Building Safety services. You will give clear advice on built environment regulation and Compliance matters.

This role is about reducing risk and improving safety across the Group. You will support statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance. You will also help make sure good practice is used across the organisation.

The role reports to the Director of Technical Building and Fire Safety. It sits in a Building Safety Team with more than 30 members of staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Give clear technical Compliance advice.
  • Support built environment and building safety regulation work.
  • Help Sanctuary meet Group policy, legal duties and best practice.
  • Monitor new and changing building safety law.
  • Track sector trends and emerging issues.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce risk.
  • Support good practice across the Group.
  • Act as the client representative on remediation projects.
  • Coordinate and monitor remediation delivery.
  • Work with Building Safety Services, contractors and internal teams.
  • Support cost-effective and efficient works.
  • Help develop building safety frameworks.
  • Support plans, policies and processes.
  • Help meet changing regulatory needs.
  • Support development strategies and business plans.
  • Develop and own key standards and processes.
  • Help ensure building safety data is high quality.
  • Support golden thread information requirements.
  • Help make sure asset data is collected and stored correctly.

About You

  • Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification.
  • Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or working towards it.
  • Membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • ALP Principal Designer Building Safety Certificate.
  • Strong experience in a similar Principal Designer role, such as CDM or BSR.
  • Strong knowledge of Gateways 2 and 3.
  • Good knowledge of current and good practice in building safety.
  • Experience assessing complex built environment remediation works.
  • Able to identify statutory reporting needs.
  • Able to assess contractor controls.
  • Able to analyse and diagnose problems.
  • Able to put effective solutions in place.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong technical judgement.
  • Able to work with contractors and internal teams.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
