Description
Hightown Housing Association is hiring a Senior Surveyor in Hemel Hempstead.
This is a permanent full-time role. It is a strong opportunity for an experienced Surveyor who wants to lead a team and help deliver safe, healthy homes.
You will lead the Healthy Homes Team and help maintain high standards across Hightown’s homes and communities. The role includes team leadership, stock condition work, major works projects, and technical advice on defects, building safety, and disrepair.
You will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation to support a consistent and resident-focused service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team: Manage and support Healthy Homes inspectors and operatives
- Support Awaab’s Law work: Oversee inspections, remedial works, and responses linked to Awaab’s Law
- Manage stock data: Oversee the Stock Condition Survey programme and help keep asset information accurate
- Lead major works: Manage projects such as roof replacements and component upgrades
- Give technical advice: Support colleagues on defects, building safety, disrepair, and regulatory matters
- Work with others: Collaborate across departments to support a consistent service for residents
About You
- Experienced: Strong background in surveying, asset management, or property maintenance
- Qualified: RICS qualified
- Awaab’s Law aware: Experience working within the requirements of Awaab’s Law
- Knowledgeable: Good understanding of construction, surveying, and building regulations
- HHSRS qualified: Housing Health and Safety Rating System inspector qualification required
- Strong leader: Able to support others and bring out the best in a team
- Good judgement: Positive, practical, and confident in making sound professional decisions
- Resident focused: Understands the value of safe housing and works with care and respect
