Description
This is a senior leadership role in Sanctuary’s Building Safety Services team. You will lead building safety delivery across the Group. You will help develop, maintain and review building safety strategies.
Your work will support a joined-up approach across the organisation. The main aim is clear: keeping residents safe.
You will also help Sanctuary prepare for new and existing legal and regulatory duties. This includes work linked to building safety, compliance, gas servicing and fire risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Building Safety delivery: Manage the Group’s building safety delivery programme.
- Develop strategy: Lead the development and review of building safety strategies.
- Create frameworks: Develop operational frameworks for building safety.
- Support safety cases: Work with technical leads on building safety cases.
- Plan resources: Coordinate building safety resources across the Group.
- Support senior leaders: Work with the Senior Leadership Team and technical leads.
- Manage risk: Support clear processes for compliance, repairs escalations and safety risks.
- Ensure compliance: Make sure tall buildings meet relevant safety duties.
- Track escalations: Ensure the Building Safety team manages issues through to completion.
- Improve processes: Develop business processes that support safe and compliant homes.
- Work with stakeholders: Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Lead teams: Recruit, manage and develop an effective team.
- Support budgets: Make sure services are delivered within budget.
- Drive improvement: Use problem solving, data and judgement to improve delivery.
About You
Sanctuary Group is looking for someone with:
- Relevant qualification: A degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification.
- CIOB knowledge: CIOB Level 6, or willingness to work towards this.
- Building Safety experience: Strong experience developing and reviewing building safety delivery strategies.
- Social housing insight: Experience in social housing would be ideal.
- Regulatory knowledge: Strong knowledge of building safety law, rules and projects.
- Complex building knowledge: Experience working with complex buildings.
- Fire safety knowledge: Strong knowledge of fire safety regulation.
- Digital information knowledge: Understanding of digital building information.
- Leadership experience: Substantial experience leading a team in a large, complex organisation.
- Budget experience: Proven experience delivering services within budget.
- Planning skills: Ability to manage deadlines, workloads and productivity.
- Financial knowledge: Understanding of financial rules and good practice.
- Problem-solving skills: Experience analysing issues and putting effective solutions in place.
- Driving licence: A full valid UK driving licence is required to drive a company vehicle.
