Description

Sanctuary Group is looking for two Resident Safety Support Coordinators to join its Building Safety team in London. This is a key role focused on helping residents who may need support to leave their home safely in an emergency. You will work with customers, assess their needs, complete Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments, and support Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans. The role helps Sanctuary meet building safety rules and improve Resident Safety across its homes.

This is a temporary role for up to 24 months. It is London based, with a balance of home and office working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident support: Work with customers to understand their needs and identify those who may fall under Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan rules.
  • Fire safety assessments: Complete and review Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments and related evacuation documents.
  • Case management: Manage several cases through Sanctuary’s systems and keep clear, accurate records.
  • Customer contact: Speak with residents using their preferred contact method, including home visits.
  • Evacuation planning: Provide individual Emergency Evacuation Statements where needed.
  • Equipment and adaptations: Help coordinate equipment, adaptations and works that support safe evacuation.
  • Partnership working: Work with internal teams, external specialists and Fire and Rescue Services where needed.
  • Data and safeguarding: Handle sensitive data safely and follow GDPR and safeguarding standards.
  • Resident engagement: Support customer engagement activity linked to Sanctuary’s resident engagement strategy.

About You

You should have:

  • Fire safety qualification: A Level 3 qualification in fire safety, fire assessment or fire engineering, or be working towards one.
  • Resident experience: Experience working directly with residents who may have varied or complex needs.
  • Assessment skills: Experience completing PCFRAs or similar person-centred assessments.
  • Fire safety knowledge: Knowledge of fire safety risks in medium and high-risk residential buildings.
  • Customer focus: Experience giving advice and support to building residents.
  • Safeguarding awareness: Experience handling data protection and safeguarding duties.
  • Organisation skills: The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise your workload.
  • Adaptations knowledge: Working knowledge of aids, adaptations and related processes.
  • Stakeholder experience: Experience working with local authorities or other external partners.
  • Driving licence: A full valid UK driving licence, as the role involves driving on company business.
