Description

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is looking for a Senior Building Safety Manager.

This is a permanent, full-time role. It is based in Farringdon, London, with travel across London and the East Midlands.

You will lead the development and delivery of MTVH’s Building Safety Management System. You will help make sure MTVH meets the Building Safety Act and wider regulatory duties.

You will act as a subject matter expert for Building Safety. You will support a proactive, resident-focused approach across the business.

You will work with internal teams, residents, regulators, fire and rescue services, managing agents, freeholders and accountable persons. Your work will help improve safety cases, resident engagement and building safety information management.

This role suits a senior Building Safety professional with strong leadership, technical knowledge and stakeholder skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Building Safety Managers.
  • Help embed resident safety across MTVH.
  • Manage MTVH’s Building Safety Management System.
  • Improve safety systems and ways of working.
  • Act as a key contact for the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Work with Primary Authority and Fire and Rescue Services.
  • Oversee building safety cases.
  • Manage building safety information.
  • Support strong resident engagement.
  • Work with development, asset management and repairs teams.
  • Work with BIM and operational teams.
  • Support safety across the full building lifecycle.
  • Monitor building safety performance.
  • Identify risks and improvement areas.
  • Prepare reports for senior leaders.
  • Present updates to governance committees.
  • Build strong links with managing agents and freeholders.
  • Support shared safety aims with external partners.

About You

  • Extensive experience in Building Safety management.
  • Experience working across large residential property portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
  • Good knowledge of Gateway processes.
  • Good knowledge of digital building information.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures.
  • Experience improving services.
  • Experience producing performance reports.
  • Experience producing management information.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities.
  • Able to lead through change.
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Recognised industry membership or equivalent experience.
  • CIOB Level 6, RICS, IFSM, IFE or similar would be useful.
  • Able to complete a Basic DBS check.
