Description

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is looking for a Supervisor to join Metworks.

This is a permanent, full-time role. It is based at the Beeston office near Nottingham. You will work both on site and in the office.

You will supervise the working at height and project team. This team includes roofers, builder multis and groundworkers.

This Supervisor role needs strong technical knowledge. You should understand working at height, site safety and repairs in social housing.

You will lead tradespeople, plan work and support safe delivery. You will also help the team deliver right first-time repairs with strong customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of tradespeople.
  • Support roofers, builder multis and groundworkers.
  • Plan and deliver effective repairs.
  • Work with supervisors, planners and managers.
  • Help repairs finish on time.
  • Support repairs against key performance indicators.
  • Monitor quality, productivity and workmanship.
  • Manage working at height activity.
  • Support site safety planning.
  • Work with Health and Safety teams.
  • Help implement and monitor RAMS.
  • Use safe systems for harnesses, scaffolding and ladders.
  • Diagnose repairs in a housing maintenance setting.
  • Identify problems and practical solutions.
  • Plan work for several trade operatives.
  • Reduce downtime where possible.
  • Handle team administration.
  • Support complaint handling.
  • Gather information from stakeholders.
  • Build good links with planning and customer service teams.
  • Work with surveying staff and repairs officers.
  • Take part in an on-call rota.

About You

  • Experience managing a working at height team.
  • Strong working at height technical experience.
  • Experience in site management and safety planning.
  • Experience managing RAMS.
  • Experience with working at height equipment.
  • Knowledge of harnesses, scaffolding and ladders.
  • Qualified or skilled tradesperson.
  • Roofing or working at height background would be useful.
  • Trade or construction qualification.
  • Good knowledge of repairs and maintenance.
  • Social housing experience would be useful.
  • Passion for right first-time repairs.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Flexible approach to work patterns and workloads.
  • Calm and patient under pressure.
  • Able to use business IT systems.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Able to deliver value for money.
  • Strong team working skills.
  • Manual driving licence.

  • SMSTS.
  • PASMA.
  • TETRA.
  • IPAF.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • CISRS.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations.
