Description
CHPK Group is hiring a Chartered Building Surveyor to join its Project Management and Professional Services team.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Central London. CHPK is a multi-disciplinary consultancy offering Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, and Professional Services.
You will work as a trusted adviser in the commercial property sector. You will lead technical work, support clients, and help develop junior colleagues.
The role offers a varied workload. This includes dilapidations, technical due diligence, refurbishments, project management, contract administration, and wider professional services work.
This role would suit a confident Surveyor with strong commercial experience and a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver surveying services: Manage work such as dilapidations, technical due diligence, defect analysis, schedules of condition, and PPM reporting
- Lead projects: Support refurbishment and fit-out projects from start to finish
- Manage contracts: Carry out contract administration and act as Project Manager or Employer’s Agent
- Support clients: Build strong client relationships and deliver work to agreed timescales, budgets, and expectations
- Maintain quality: Make sure reports, specifications, and project outputs are accurate and consistent
- Support the team: Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors and provide APC support
- Help grow the business: Contribute to networking, client engagement, and business development
- Work with colleagues: Collaborate with internal teams including Cost Consultancy, M&E Services, and Fire Engineering
About You
- Qualified: Degree in Building Surveying or a related subject
- Chartered: MRICS qualification is essential
- Experienced: At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in a consultancy setting
- Commercially capable: Experience in dilapidations, technical due diligence, and contract administration
- Project focused: Experience working as a Project Manager or Employer’s Agent
- Contract aware: Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Organised: Able to manage more than one project at a time
- Client focused: Strong communication skills and a professional approach
- Technically confident: Good Microsoft Office skills, with Deltek PIM knowledge helpful but not essential
- Flexible: Willing to travel to sites across London and at times across the UK
- Licensed: Full UK driving licence
